Sorry I hit the return button! Well, we survived another court. This was the pre-trial for parental termination. We have a new judge assigned to the case, Judge Valdez! What a blessing to have him! He is on the ball and firm in the courtroom..I don't think he was impressed with Ricky or Alma or her family! Alma's aunt was granted the opportunity to complete a kinship/home study..they "were never given the same opportunity to have Laila with their family"...blah..blah..blah! So to review that situation we have a hearing on Feb. 22nd. And the trial date is set for March 13th! Both ought to be interesting...I think Ricky gets out of prison on Feb. 20th...and I wouldn't be surprised if Alma is out by then too! Maybe we can sit in the hallway with all of them for an hour and a half next time instead of just her whole family. About the only other event that took place yesterday was that Alma's family attourney petitioned for the family to have visitation rights..and that was DENIED!! Yeah!! Overall...I felt like what took place was in our favor! It was quite the event...hard to not laugh at times...and hard to see them crying too! The grandma asked us how Laila was..and she couldn't quit crying. I am so glad that Heavenly Father has a plan for all of us...and I feel so honored to be a part of her plan! I will fight tooth and nail for her! When I see her "family" I have such a hard time imagining that she came from them! When I see Laila...I see my daughter. Thanks for all your support and prayers!
