Hey, just checking in while the guys are not here and the girls are watching Animal Planet.

Three cheers for Cambria and Montana!!! Cambria took 1st place in her class spelling bee and Montana took 2nd in his class spelling bee. They each got an engraved medal and a certificate and they will compete against each other on Fri in the All School Spelling Bee.

C framed in the rest of the window openings in the new dining room today. Now we need to order the windows. I believe the electricity will be moved for good tomorrow.

I'm really glad that Grandpa and Great Great Grandpa were record keepers. It's amazing how much you can learn even from receipts and other seemingly insignificant pieces of paper. Guess I know where I might have gotten my penchant for keeping stuff and family history/stories.

Wendy-I don't envy you having to move everything again. But at least it's to a bigger place and BACK HOME!! Probably makes the task a bit easier to do.

Karla-I downloaded a bunch of freebie kits and it was so fun to 'unzip' them. I haven't done anything with them yet, but I have ideas. Talked to Jordan tonight and we were discussing his High School graduation announcements. We did not buy the traditional school ones and plan on making our own. We thought that just doing a 4"x6" design and printing them up as 4x6 photos might be an easy way to do it. I'll let him do the graphic design part...He actually filled out his papers tonight for an Eagle project. I have to admit that I was flabbergasted. His project is to make some new easels for our ward meetinghouse. The ones we have are ancient and there aren't very many of them. I think Bishop George helped him with that idea. Crossing my fingers that it gets approved. Send good thoughts his way. He had an interesting weekend last week. Twice he stayed out past his curfew and thankfully C was able to finally get him to talk about what's going on in his life. I just wanted to throttle him. Anyhoo, I guess he has finally found a group of friends to hang out with and finally feels like he fits in somewhere and belongs. He has had the problem of people thinking he's stuck-up and arrogant because he didn't talk alot or initiate conversation. HHHhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmm, wonder why that sounds familiar? I guess he was just having so much fun fitting in and being with people that he didn't want to leave. But I'm glad he has friends. It's a group of kids from A Capella, about 8 or 9 of them. One of them, Merinda, came over on Sunday to bring him a paper she had critiqued for English and to talk. She was very nice, cute and friendly. She is doing High School and Hair school, so he had her cut his hair last week. Hoping I can meet more of them at some point in the future. I was wondering about having a party for him for his 18th birthday. Can't get him to committ to it yet.

Well, guess I've rambled enough, I need to go get the girls to bed.

Love ya,
Have wonderful Thursday!

me again

Hi Everyone!

It is Tuesday night and almost time for bed, so I'll just give a short Hi and I love you and then I'll do more another day. I will be helping Wendy tomorrow. She says she is sleeping in Monticello tomorrow even if it is at our house!

I have been going through some more of the boxes from Dad's house. More old journals from JF Barton. He was quite the record keeper. Clyde got his record keeping from his dad and from his dad's dad. We'll have to look at some of the old stuff some time.

We took a bunch of stuff to the storage unit yesterday to make room for the equipment that Dad bought. We will really have to have a garage sale this spring,. Lots to clean out and sale or throw away.

Well the news is over and it is time for sleep. I don't know why I can't sleep at night and then can't wake up in the morning,. Oh well, see you later. Love ya Mom

Monday again

Monday, January 29, 2007

Well, the weekend always goes way too fast for me. I'm the only one at work today. Doug, Carla & Shirley had to go to Navajo Mountain. Can I tell you how sad I am that I didn't have to go--yuk! Our internet here at work is crappy lately which means I can't get any work done. Oh well, it's nationwide for FSA so I'm not going to worry about it too much.

Nothing new going on in the Eberling household. Jim & I have settled on a floor plan. That's a huge relief!! I'm excited. It'll be two or three years before we can begin, but it's fun to start putting it together in my head.

Sorry about not posting more. My life is so boring I forget that even the mundane is ok to post about once in a while.

Not doing too great on the weight watchers thing. I did sooo good Mon-Thurs night last week, and then it was like a switch got flipped, and I had to shove everything I could into my mouth! On a bright note, I found some ice cream bars, Blue Bunny Health Smart bars that are only 1/2 a point each I think. They're really good!! I was surprized. I thought they'd have that funky diet, fat free nastiness to them, but they're quite tasty.

The family & I started to read the Book of Mormon together. Allie called Jim and he came home from work for 15 minutes and read a chapter with us. I'm excited. I hope we can get through the Book of Mormon together this year. That's our goal!

Well, I think I better post this and get back to fighting the internet pages. Love you all!!

Kass--congrats on the addition--sounds like things are finally moving for you!!

hi-ho!

Hey, Happy Sunday!

Just thought I'd blog in and say hi. I really miss everyone posting....hint, hint!

I know we're all busy but it helps me feel so much closer to you to know a bit about what's going on in your lives when you take minute to write something. Let's not let this thing die.

We've had a nice Sunday. Soren slept through Sunday School and managed to behave enough so that I didn't have to leave RS to wander around the gym. It was really nice.
C and I got to attend the BYU-Air Force BB game yesterday. That was a lot of fun and the place was packed. It was so loud in there you could hardly hear yourself talk. Montana went skating all afternoon with some friends from school...it's strange but GOOD to have him participating in things. So happy that he has friends and wants to do things with them. Its' been a long time since he did any of that.

Still trying to stick to WW. I should probably stop counting the nursing points and I'm sure I would show some drop on the scale. If it doesn't show anything this week, I think I'll drop those. I need to make up some snack baggies of things to grab and take with me in the car and into my room, so I don't spend so much time in the kitchen. I have got to learn to occupy my time with things that aren't so conducive to snacking as driving and reading are.....I did exercise three times this week, though. Feel pretty good about that.

We will get our electicity moved to the new connection on the addition this week and trusses should come by Fri. Hopefully in the next two weeks we will have a roof, and maybe new windows and a new back door.

Well, need to go help Soren get to sleep. Hope to hear from you soon. Love you all very much.

I'm tired!!

Thursday, January 25, 2007

I don't know if all the "events" we are involved in are catching up with me, or if I am tired just knowing Ben will be gone all weekend for drill in SLC!
Wow! When I read to title to Kassie's last blog I thought for a second you might be announcing something! LOL! I am so glad you finally got to see that show! I would love to have a copy of it! When I saw it I too was in awe over their organizational skills. I suppose you would have to be in order to run a household like the Duggers! Hearing about you cleaning out closets and such puts me in such a good mood! I am anxious to move back to Cello..hoping to be able to pull some of my 'crafty' hobies out of storage so I can get some of my creativity out once in a while! I am in the mood for spring and all that it brings!
Well, Stacy...I don't know if you are reading this anymore..just in case..I received a card saying that your subscription should be coming soon! Hopefully it does and hopefully you will like it as much as I do...but act upon it more than I do! LOL
Karla, thanks for the funny emails! It's nice to get more than just solicition mail once in a while! The drunk one was pretty funny! Maybe the kiddies and I will have to make a trip to hang out with ya this weekend...if it's ok?
Mom, I can't wait to see the new counters in the bathrooms! What a transformation they already are just with floors, mirror, and lights! I think you need to work out a schedule so that you have another day off! It's wierd having you back to work again...but I hope all is going well and that you are able to still enjoy it!
Good night...love ya'll

sluggish

Wednesday, January 24, 2007

looks like we've all been a little sluggish lately. Karl and I went to Cortez today for bird food and to pay for the carpet and tile. Also ordered our countertops for the bathrooms, and bought a remnant carpet to put in the store.
We will be leaving for Clays wedding as soon as I get through working tomorrow,. We will stay in Manti and then go to the wedding and the dinner. After the dinner we will go to Provo to see the family , shop and sleep. Coming home on Saturday. Oops I had better look at my Primary lesson tonight.
we are watching the Jazz (through very sleepy eyes, I might add) I should be going through all the piles of books and stuff that are on the floor waiting to be put back into the shelves and drawers. It is a good time to clean out, but I'll probably wait until I have no time, so I'll just throw everything back in. Karl threw away a bunch of Western Horsemen. Noe I need to do the same.
After three weeks back at work, I can remember why I needed to quit. I come home too tired to do any housework. Perhaps it will help when it is light longer, I hope so. I am about to get it put together like I want it to be, so I can clean on Saturday. Of course, I'll be traveling this Saturday and helping Ben & Wendy moving next saturday, so that takes care of those two.

Well, I need to sew some pillowcases for Clay and Brenda. Talk to you all later. Love you much. Mom

Kids by the Dozen

Hey, this blog is turning into a desert wasteland....
Where is everyone? Stacy, did you fall off the planet, haven't heard from you in like 2 weeks. I tried to call you Sunday and didn't get an answer, just wanted to check on ya!

C left for Elko again yesterday so I stayed up way too late last night and watched TLC. They had two shows on about families with 16 kids. The one about the Duggars that you saw Wendy, and one about a family called the Heppners. I liked both of them, and I'm quite in awe of the organizational skills of the moms, the patience of the fathers, and the helpfulness of the children. Very inspiring. I really loved the Duggars new house, but I'm wondering how in the heck they paid for all that new stuff on top of just the regular expenses of caring for a family that size. Dad must make BIG$$$. I have to admit their clothing and hair styles could make you mistake them for polygamists, but very nice people. The Heppners were more normal, per se, and lived in a much smaller home, but Dad is a contractor and has custom made storage to make it work for them. The love exhibited by both families was amazing! I wish my kids loved each other like that. Maybe if their mother was more loving in her actions they would be as well.

Wendy, glad you got a good judge. I hope things continue to go well and you can get this over with and move ahead with life. Are you still spending more time in Monticello than Blanding these days? Did you find a place to rent? When do you move back up there?

Karla, I've been having a hard time sticking to points too. Too many things I'd like to eat. But I have been exercising a bit more than normal(which isn't hard, since that # is 0), doing some of the workouts on FitTV that I like. I keep wanting to bag it, but I have paid for 3 mon on WW online, so no can quit now.
Sounds like a good party plan for Allie. I hate sleepovers, but we do lots of lateovers.

Mom, are you living down at the store now? I tried to call you Sunday too and didn't get an answer. C and I were planning to come to Manti, but I just realized I scheduled Visiting Teaching for that morning. I'll have to see what I can do.

I bought some organizing stuff today and organized part of my bathroom closet. I need to go back and buy one more drawer unit and a cute canvas bin or two. Oh, well, at least I made a start. It's going to be an interesting year around here as I go through everything and figure out ways to be more organized and efficient. Found lots of junk in that closet that was good to let go of.
Well, better go figure out dinner. Probably soup and sandwiches tonight. Something easy.

I'm a complete Failure!!

You know, leftover birthday cake and PMS--not a good combination when you're trying to lose weight. I totally oinked out on the cake today. I feel awful now. I hate PMS.

I have 5 giggly screaming 9 year old girls downstairs right now. Allie is having her UnSlumber Birthday party. They've been here since 6:30, we ate turnovers, played dance twister, opened presents, now they're watching Barnyard and I'll take them home around 9:30. I forget how silly and loud girls are.

I'm so glad it's the weekend. I've not had a bad week at work, but I really need the break for some reason. I don't want to answer phones or anything for a few days. Our computer system at work hasn't been working, so all of those piles I need to get through are just getting bigger, with no way of working on them. That's so frustrating.

Well, I better go clean up a little. It looks like a wrapping paper store threw up in my family room. I guess I'll wait until everyone is gone, but at least it sounds like they're having fun down there!

try again....the latest...

Sorry I hit the return button! Well, we survived another court. This was the pre-trial for parental termination. We have a new judge assigned to the case, Judge Valdez! What a blessing to have him! He is on the ball and firm in the courtroom..I don't think he was impressed with Ricky or Alma or her family! Alma's aunt was granted the opportunity to complete a kinship/home study..they "were never given the same opportunity to have Laila with their family"...blah..blah..blah! So to review that situation we have a hearing on Feb. 22nd. And the trial date is set for March 13th! Both ought to be interesting...I think Ricky gets out of prison on Feb. 20th...and I wouldn't be surprised if Alma is out by then too! Maybe we can sit in the hallway with all of them for an hour and a half next time instead of just her whole family. About the only other event that took place yesterday was that Alma's family attourney petitioned for the family to have visitation rights..and that was DENIED!! Yeah!! Overall...I felt like what took place was in our favor! It was quite the event...hard to not laugh at times...and hard to see them crying too! The grandma asked us how Laila was..and she couldn't quit crying. I am so glad that Heavenly Father has a plan for all of us...and I feel so honored to be a part of her plan! I will fight tooth and nail for her! When I see her "family" I have such a hard time imagining that she came from them! When I see Laila...I see my daughter. Thanks for all your support and prayers! Love ya'll-Wen
