Back at it!

Wow, was I wiped out yesterday. I'm pretty sure that I was the most boring singing time leader these kids have ever had. I just had no umph or energy! Oh, well!

Mom and Dad, thanks so much for letting us come and stay. I just LOVE Bluff. It is such a calm peaceful place to be, away from the hustle and bustle. And the wind! (most of the time) The girls and I talked this morning about all the things they could write in their journals and things they could say they had learned about. History (Natural Bridges birthday, pioneer causeway), Geology(how the bridges were formed) Geography (state books and maps they did in the car), Health(we talked about the floats in the parade and why those things were being promoted, how the Navajos and Utes have problems with obesity and diabetes and such) They really had a good time.

We made it home without incident. The roads were very busy, but we moved right along. I am sorry I didn't call, but it was nearly 11 when I thought of it. We got home at 8:15.

Girls, we need to schedule a girls' day again. Do you realize it's been three years since we were all in SLC/Park City together? It's time. Is there any time this summer to get together? Curtis and I have ruled out any big trips, we just want to do a few day trips and camping with the kids, so I am pretty open. I am going to Shakespeare the last weekend in June, but that's all that's on my calendar for now. Oh and C and the boys will be gone to scout camp around the 16th of June, so I'll be home with the girls and Soren.
Let me know! Let's see what we can put together!

Well, better run get lunch, do some laundry and get ready to go do carpool. Day's flying by already.

Take care!

Good morning!

Hello family!

It snowed last night! Wild stuff, I tell ya! Nothing new on the Eberling front. Jim had the stomach flu yesterday. It's a yukky one. I know I was miserable with it.

The kids are doing well. Peyton is crazy. Allie is a computer geek. I guess the genetics are all there.

I love Peyton. Some of the things he thinks up are absolutely hilarious. I got a small screwdriver set from work. One you can put in your pocket or purse and you can change the bit heads for different types of screws. So, I gave it to Peyton. I was awakened the other morning to my 6 year old son saying,

"Mom, I really want to screw something. Can you help me find something to screw?"

How do you keep a straight face to that? He looked so earnest and by dang, he wanted something to screw! Wow. That's priceless.

So, I found him an old pot lid that had a handle held on to it with a screw. He proudly exclaimed later, "Mom!! Look! I screwed it!"

Gotta love the kid
Later!

Holy Cow!

We must have better things to do than blog. Whatcha all up to?

Just wanted to pop in and say hi. We are trying like crazy to get this house done(at least look done) by the end of the month. Just had our 4-way inspection and passed so we can start insulating and hanging sheetrock. We got a bid from Muddy Boys but they wanted $2800 and we just can't stomach that, so C will be doing it. He said he didn't like paying a lot for the electrician either, but he can't do that himself and sheetrock he can. Today they are also jacking up the trusses above the kitchen. It would seem that the north wall of the kitchen sagged and to make the ceiling and floors match, Doug is adjusting all the trusses. It's never a dull moment with this job. The new roof looks great and the whole front side is nearly shingled. Hopefully, that will get finished soon.

We were supposed to go to the Homeschool day at the Zoo today, but it is too cold and snowy/rainy so we didn't do it. My girls are a bit mad and disappointed, but I promised we would go next year as well as just going any other day soon. I am sewing some more Shakespeare costumes today instead. These are some chemises for the girls to use, much easier sewing than what I did last year. Got to finish up those volunteer hours, you know.

Hope all is well in each of your lives. I'm sorry we don't be down for Easter, but with the house on a deadline, it just doesn't fit in our schedule. Have a great one!

See ya!

I guess I'm still alive

Wednesday, February 06, 2008

Well, I guess I'm back among the living--me and my 6 inch battle wound. Thanks to Mom for pitching in and saving me while I was in the hospital and in pain.

Nothing much going on here other than all the snow. Wow, I can't remember having this much snow. It's been a while. Unfortunatly, my kids left their sleds on the front lawn before the last 12 inches fell, so now they can't find them and go sledding when it's such perfect sledding weather.

Well, I'm planning on taking Jim & the kids to San Antonio for spring break this year. We're going to fly down (I think) and go to Sea World and the ocean at Corpus Christie and the Alamo and the Riverwalk. It should be a lot of fun. Kevin is planning on moving up here as soon as possible, so this will be about the last time we'll be able to go when there's someone to stay with and someone to take us around and play tour guide.

Hope everyone is doing good. Take care
Love
Karla

Another Week Down!

Saturday, February 02, 2008

Hey, just checking in. Wondering what everyone is up to these days.

Wendy-were you guys able to get moved in this weekend like you had planned? I was thinking about you today and wishing we could be of more help to you. Did all your lights make it home okay last weekend?

Karla-are you recovering? I'm sorry you had to have the old "cut 'er open" type of appendectomy. At least you have a scar in the proper place now. All my scars are on every other part of my abdomen except the part that covers where the appendix would be located.

Stacy-What's new? Wendy told me you're trying to put together a team for that long, crazy race. Do you have nothing else to do? Just kidding. I'm so amazed at how much you have taken to running. I keep trying it, but I just don't like it.

Mom and Dad-Did you get the porch project finished? I'm sure you have a few more things going as well. Jordan has his interview with the Stake President tomorrow, so hopefully his papers will be submitted this week. How long does it take to get a call? Anyone know? We'll let you all know when we get it.

I spent all morning/early afternoon watching President Hinckley's funeral. It was nice. I can't remember them ever televising a funeral before. Have they and I just missed it?
Then I ran to the library, to Cami's baptism and shopping. That's literally all I got done today, and I'm exhausted. I think it's more emotional exhaustion. I cried and laughed all through the funeral. I don't know why, because I'm happy for him, but I will miss him and his cute little ways of doing things. We got the Durango back again, there was a crack in something that let all the grease in the transmission leak out as it heated up. They fixed it and it's working this time. And it was all covered by warranty too! Hallelujah! Now I feel as if I can trust it and can make those dental appointments the kids need. I hated to take the Suburban and leave C with only the little truck. Montana has an ortho consult on Tues. Any guesses on what his treatment will cost? We could start a little family pool of guesses.....

Well, it's late and I better hit the hay. I have to get up and get my visual aids ready for Primary. I am such a procrastinater. What else is new? Have a loverly Sabbath.

Dear Family,

We are currently being blown away! I cannot remember when we have had so much snow and so much wind. Much like the old fashioned Monticello snow storms. I guess it was like this 11 years ago. We will be happy to have water nest summer! We do hope that the front porch in Bluff ( which is under reconstructon) is still standing!

We are watching the Jazz and San Antonio. Tilly and Laila each have a TV to watch, (it keeps them from fussing with each other).

I think that Karl, Ben and Wendy will go to Grand Junction tomorrow to pick up more supplies. This storm should move on and then perhaps the roads will be passible.

My old Bernina is still in Bluff from our sewing project, so I haven't worked on anything very exciting. I took my quilt materials down there, but then we came home and I didn't bring anything back home with me. I should come up with a cute design to embroidery for quilt blocks, but I haven't put my head together on that yet. I need to go to Christiansen Wholesale and buy a whole bolt of fabric to make blocks out of, but I haven't get there yet. Perhaps one of these days I'll go on a shopping spree for fabric! I plan to go to Grand Junction when the weather is better to get material for blinds, and cushion covers for the Bluff house.

We look forward to being able to come to Price to see Stacy's new bedroom set and the work being done in her house and the work being done in Kassies too.

Talk to you later. Love to all. Mom

Hey!!

Monday, January 14, 2008

Wow, it is so NICE to read something written on this blog by someone other than me.

Thanks, Mom and Wendy.

Nothing fantastic taking place in our world except I'm starting to feel stretched a bit thin again. (Wish that were literally stretched thin!) Ford's basketball games start this week and he has two games a week, some as far away at North Salt Lake. Ugh!! And we still only have one working vehicle. Still borrowing Grandma's little truck.....BLASTED DURANGO!

Wendy-that's so cool that Denice is getting married again. I hope it will be a good thing for her and her kids. I hope it will erase some of the pain and trauma they've had in their lives.
Good luck with all you're doing. I hope you can get the house finished enough to move into....

Well, better run, I'm trying to get to bed by 10:00 tonight. Got to get myself on a better schedule. Good night!

Hello...it's time for my quarterly update!! Ha ha...

Saturday, January 12, 2008

..well, how is everyone? It seems like I have disappeared for the last few months! Thanks Kass for the fun calendar! That is a really creative and useful way to have a calendar. Thanks Karla for the photo album....i filled it with my recipes and it works great! I love it.
I have been busy painting, and running home to wash out my brush and roller, and painting, and running home to wash out my brush and roller, and painting....and you get the idea! The girls room is finished except the little bit of touch-up that I will do last! It is extremely bright and lively in their room...but I am excited about the way it turned out. Today I painted my bathroom, the hallway, kitchen, and a few other misc. areas...kinda a random order but it is using my more expensive paint that is more 'kid-friendly' in the high traffic areas! It is nice to have that much done...we are moving out of our rental at the end of this month....I don't know if we will move into our house or mom and dads...or the crane's! FUN hu! By monday we should be able to tile the girls shower....every project has so many layers to it! Anyway, we are alive still and I do check in to see how you are all doing periodically. I will be coming up north for Denice's wedding the weekend of the 25th...so maybe I can drop in and see Stacy and Kass. Talk to ya'll soon. Love Wendy

happy new year to all

Thursday, January 03, 2008

Hi everyone, I guess it is time to start a new year and send everyone a message, at least once a week. It is good to know everyone had a good Christmas and that you are off to a good start for the New Year. I did not make any resolutions so I don't have to worry about breaking them. I would like to make a few improvements as I go along, but I am not publishing any of them! We'll just see how things go as we go along.

I will be going to Bluff Monday afternoon, and staying until Saturday. I need to work on the sewing project and it isn't getting done too fast here. I then plan to go back the next week as well. That week-end is the Balloon festival. 18-20th. Dad is planning to take the mules down on Monday also, so he will be able to keep his chores done. I hope that some of the days will be warm enough that he can go for a ride. We plan to get enough more angle iron to brace up the fence posts that have rotted off. We did two last week and it will work really well.

We are going to Cortez on Saturday to get angle iron, have documents framed, visit wally world and eat out for my b-day. We thought RL could put the new radiant heater in the apartment this Saturday, but He can't do it until next week-end. I hope that this will fix the heating system in the apartment really good. It will also make it easy to add heat to the tack shed if we need to.

Well, Liz and I need to go put Martha Johnson's wood inside her trailer. She is on oxygen now and it is really hard for her to do it after work, when it is dark and cold, so we do it every other day or so. Also need to take our new RS book to Ruth and Jimi Jean. I'll check in on all of you later. Love Mom
