Hi everyone. It is Tuesday afternoon and I have been to the temple today and washed my upstairs windows, so I don't have to do anything else unless I want to! I may just sit and knit on my leper bandage. I just opened the Halloween candy, so I will now make myself sick on sugar. There isn't much to tell about what is going on down here, as I just visited with most of you. We are going to try to leave Thurs. evening and go as far as Price, then on to Cabelas on Friday. Erma wants to try to get the siblings together Friday evening at the cabin for an hour or so, so that might be on our schedule. I think we will try to go back to the motel at Price for Friday evening, so I can do a salad or two on sat. morning. We'll see what happens with all of that. Talk to all of you later this weekend. Looking forward to seeing you. Love ya Mom

Happy Monday!! Just got all the kids off to school and Curtis off to Elko....

Went to the Hole-in-the-Rock program last night that Uncle LaMar was in charge of. It was nice and well attended. Aunt Kena and Uncle Steve were there. I met one woman who was also a descendent of Joseph Barton, through Josephine....it was neat to talk to her.

Sorry that the craft fair was pretty much a bust, Mom. Kena said it was not good. Seems like that is pretty much the result every time you go to one of these things. I tell you, your stuff isn't kitschy enough for people to spend $$ on it at a fair. They seriously buy the strangest things at fairs. I should know I've done my share of that.

Fun to get a call from Livvie yesterday about helping with the music for her baptism. We are looking forward to Saturday.

Well, better get busy and get some of my Monday work started. That laundry mountain just gets taller and taller...Cya!

Friday, October 27, 2006

Wow!! We're all here! That's so cool! I'm sitting here at work all alone today. I have sooo much to do, though, I don't think I'll be bored. The darn Federal Government blocked out websudoku.com so I can't print any more puzzles at work and do them--killjoys.

Nothing new going on at the Eberling household. Same ole-same ole. I spent yesterday in Castle Dale for retirement training. wow--only 25 years to go!! It was good to know a lot of stuff. If I have my thirty years in I can retire at 57 without any reduction in benefits. I'll have 31 years in at 57 and they'll continue to pay for my health insurance and will give me a payment that would equal my SS check until I'm old enough to get SS in addition to my retirement. Not too shabby.

Stacy--I'm sorry about Corbin. That stinks. Hopefully they'll be understanding and lenient. Wendy, so excited for you and Leila. Hope things go smoothly. Kassie, congrats on getting a floor on your addition. Mom, hope the craft fair was successful and fun.

Well, I better get back to stuffing checks, filing papers, reattributing 1500 different rock patches on our maps, etc.

Love ya
Karla
Hey, the gang's all here!!!
Like I told Stacy on the phone, this way we can still communicate on our own time schedule, when it's convenient for us. I often don't call because I don't know when a good time for you is. This way I can post and you can read and/or comment on your schedule. I love it. Of course, nothing is the same as hearing your voices, but this really adds to that.

I'm also jealous of the carpet. I look forward to the day we get new. What color and type are you doing? and is it the same all through the upstairs? We are actually working on our addition today. Hopefully by the end of the day there will be a floor out there and the back door will be usable again.

Wendy-How sweet for you to hear that from Leila. I hope she continues to feel that way once she comes to live with you. Mom told me that she was loud and that she will fit right in the family. I'm excited to meet her. Hopefully next Saturday.

Wow, didn't realize this thing with Corbin was quite so serious. I'm sorry for him too. Oh, the dumb things we do as parents. What are the possible consequences they are trying to determine? Not letting him get his license or what?

Mom stopped in for a bit yesterday but she wasn't able to leave her machines, so I don't think she will be back up here before she goes home. Stacy don't be surprised if she comes to your house Sat night instead of Sun. I am toying with the idea of going down to Nephi to the craft fair, but not sure yet. . . . .

Well, nothing really exciting here today, except that no one had to get up early for school today. I slept in until 8, it sure felt nice. Have a wonderful day and talk at ya later.

Yeah!!We are all blogging! This really is cool so thanks Kass and Karla for the idea! This is why I am so excited for Tilly to get a sister..there is nothing better! I love you guys and I am so grateful for all your love and support! Hey Stacy, I am gelous about the carpet..think how good that will smell! Ahhh...new! Love all you guys! Kass tell mom hi from me!Love Wen

Wednesday, October 25, 2006

Hi again! Mom, sorry I wasn't at lunch with ya...sounds like a lot more fun and better tasting than the top ramen Tilly and I ate! Well, I just shared the news with mom but thought I better post it for the rest of you....I got to talk to Leila tonight! She is such a cute little thing! I don't think anyone was prompting her and she told me that I am so nice and she also said " I love you" ! I could just cry myself to sleep...happy tears! Afterwards she made Jackie's girls cry by telling them I am 'her' Wendy and not theirs! I even had to talk to one of Jackie's daughters so she would quit crying over me! It is also looking like maybe I won't have to stay up north for 2 weeks..I am hoping that one will be enough! And Jackie is fine with me bringing Leila to Olivia's baptism...yeah..so you can probably all plan on meeting her that saturday if it is ok with Lucy (caseworker)! Anyway, I couldn't be happier tonight..love ya. Wendy
Anxious to see you Mom! I'd love to go to lunch with you, think I could make it home in time to pick up the kids????LOL!

Sure I can pick up your machine and scissors. My kids are out of school on Fri so I'm hoping to be able to catch up on some of my errands then or on Sat. Nicole is taking me to lunch Fri for my birthday. Going to Zupa's for a yummy salad with berries and cinnamon almonds in it. YUM!

It sure is trying to rain/snow here, but not getting much done yet. I'm hoping it holds off til I get everyone home from school. I dislike driving in it.

Jordan had his first concert last night, but I wasn't able to go. Too much homework with the other kids and Curtis had to go Home teaching....I feel bad to miss his concerts, but I haven't yet found a way to be in more than one place at a time.

Well, better get a move on, I need to get us all ready since I get to help in Kindergarten today....Cya!

Tuesday, October 24, 2006

Well it is now almost 11 p.m. and I have just about sewn all I want to for the day. I am trying to get a variety of things done to take to Nephi on Thursday. I plan to leave after dropping Allie off at school, and I am going by way of I70 as Kena wants to come to Provo with me that afternoon. I need to get my Bernina serviced and some scissors sharpened. the Craft thing goes until Saturday at 5:00 , so I will need Kassie to pick up my machine for me, will that be a possibility? I would like to come back to Provo Saturday evening and stay and then go to Stacy's and home on Sunday.

The potato soup sounds yummy. I eat one much like that at Wagon wheel during the winter. I had Creamy Turkey soup there today. Sure was good, but eating by yourself is no fun. Would anyone care to join me?

Wendy, I would like to help out if there is something I can do. I can make food for Ben and do laundry or whatever. Let me know. We are excited and anxious at the same time. I did two zipper front hoodies tonight which are pink and ash, with a cute flower and princess design. size 3T and 4T. I thought maybe I should keep them for Tilly and Leila for Christmas, but maybe they won't even sell and then I can show them to you.
Talk to you tomorrow.

Love all of you, Mom

Made this for dinner tonight and it's so yummy. I thought you might like to try it. It's way easy. You can make it more diet friendly but using lo fat or no fat cheese and sour cream.

Wendy-I think my head would be spinning too, trying to figure out exactly what I needed to have done before heading up here. I'm sure you will get it done and all will be fine. Funny how we women think the world will fall apart if we don't handle every detail....
Hello Everyone! No I haven't crawled in a hole yet...just been at the Crane's for the deer hunt! It was a successful year..Ben got a nice 3 point. I worked on a "silky" for Leila all weekend..I am almost finished with that project. I have a few more to tackle this week to get ready for the whole event! Tilly and I need to go thru her clothes she has out grown to see what we actually have for Leila. I am going to rearrange the bedroom to allow more play area. And I want to go thru the toys also! Not to mention trying to figure out how I can make life easier on Ben while Tilly and I live in SLC for 2 weeks! Tilly is at school right now and I am trying to enjoy the quiet apartment while it lasts but my brain is entering panic mode! I am sure everything will be great and we will be blessed thru all of this ...it is just a little overwhelming at times! I will try to keep you all updated and let you know how it's going! Love ya Wendy

Recap of today's Primary Program in Sacrament Meeting!!

Well, you know you haven't grown up enough when your kids can still embarrass the heck out of ya in church. Today was the primary program and both kids had their parts memorized really well. We were early, I thought--Piece of cake!! Whatever!!

They had a small riser in front of the podium for the two youngest classes to sit on. Peyton gets up there and DOES NOT want to sit by the girls. He gets mad and finally they solved the problem by letting him scoot his chair closer to the front so he's not right by the girls.

Then, when it's his turn to say his part, he walks up to the podium, steps on the stool and says in a nice clear voice, "Jesus Christ is our Savior." Then he stepped of the stool. I breathed a sigh of relief. Perfect!!

Then, as he's walking across the stand toward the stairs, he pumps his arm in the air like someone trying to make a trucker honk and says loud enough for the entire congregation to hear, "Yes!"

Ok, I wanted to die there. But it got better. He stepped off the first step and then jumped over the last two and while in the air yelled "Woo!" He was so proud of himself for saying his part right and everything. But, Jim and I were a bit mortified. I mean, really. How many parents have had their kids do a victory leap in Sacrament meeting for saying their part correctly?

I must say, many people mentioned it to us after Sacrament meeting and told us it was so cute. A few even mentioned that we need to be so careful to not crush that spirit. It's rare. Anyway, that was our fun day at church.

Last night Jim shot a 4 point bull. But, it was too dark to follow the blood trail and their flashlights weren't charged up very well and they had to leave him. They went back out today to see if they could track the blood trail and find him. They weren't worried about other hunters finding him and taking him because he was on Dad's Dry Valley land. Hopefully, he didn't make it over into BLM or something like that. Jim was so dissappointed.

Well, I'm gonna go now--looks like the Fall Festival was fun.
Later--love ya
Karla

IT'S DONE FOR ANOTHER YEAR! HOORAY!

I enjoyed the fall festival much more this year than last, got to mingle a bit and meet a few people. Much better than being stuck in the kitchen all night long. The kids had fun playing with friends and doing crafts and games. The lady they had there to do facepainting was amazing. Here is a pic of the girls with their beautiful faces. Looks like it was a smashing success as a fundraiser too. It was so crowded. They sold meal tickets for 900, last year only 600.

Just getting ready to head off to take Sadie and Hannah to swim lessons, then off to the game. Looks like a nice day!
Thanks for remembering me yesterday. I love you all and I'm so thankful you're my family.

Love
Kas

Now we just need to hogtie Stacy and make her register......HI MOM!! This is just so cool!

Well, I tried to bake a cake and of course it came out lopsided because of my STUPID oven. I abhor that thing. So tomorrow I will go to Sam's and purchase a pretty one. All is not lost because I will just eat my lopsided cinnamon struesel one for my birthday! Sounds like a good plan.

What are everyone's T-day plans? I may try to come down for a couple of days before T-day, cause my kids have all of that week off and then I could be back up here for the actual event with the Welch's. I guess I ought to try to determine what their plans are too, so I can make mine.

Well, it's late and tomorrow will come much too early. Good Night!
Oh what a glorious day!! I only have 3 more hours of work, then I'm off for 3 days!! WOOHOO!!

Wendy, that's awesome!! I'm so happy for you guys. Hope it all works out like it's supposed to.

I'm sitting here at work doing Evil level Sudoku puzzles while the boss is at lunch. I'm trying to avoid anything that resembles real work.

Hey, Wendy & Stacy--do you want me to burn the family pics I did of you guys onto a CD and mail them to you? I haven't edited any of them. Wendy can edit hers, but Stacy, if you want your files, I'll send them. I promise, I will get around to editing one of these days. But, you could take the disk to Wal-Mart or upload and crop and stuff at the machine or on the web sites. Let me know.

Well, my sister in law, Lindsay, wants to hang out with us over Thanksgiving. She thinks we're funny. She wants to learn how to do counted cross stitch or crocheting, so I figured we could show her how to be an old married lady.

That's about it for today. Jim is helping the Tracy's ship cows and I'm wishing I was home in bed with a good book. But, 'cest la vie (or whatever)
Later!
Karla
Hi Everyone! It has taken me quite awhile to find out how to add a message. Karla just shows me and I am supposed to remember! I finally did it. The machine is busy making snow flakes and I am looking for a design for an childs apron. Too bad I only have one machine, I could get a few more things finished! Great weather today. I should go outside and work in my yard, but I haven't tackled that project yet. I washed up all the china and put it in my hutch, it looks really nice, but now I have to find a place for the stuff that was already there. Always something. Machine stopped--time to get something else going. talk to you later
Mom
Hidy-ho! Do I spy Mom's name as a contributor??? Cool!!

Wendy-that is so exciting for you. Heavenly Father sure has a round about way of doing things sometimes, doesn't he. It's hard to trust Him and wait until things are right in His time.

Trust Karla to take a hobby and turn it into an intellectual experiment. ;o) I can't tell you how left out I felt while you all sat and crocheted/knitted. Of course, the one time I tried to do something someone needed to be held, so..............I still felt funny.

Got the ornaments for the auction done and turned in yesterday. That's like a huge hairy monkey off my back. Now to get rid of the little one that's still there. I have to take a cake for the bake sale and I'm trying to decide whether to bake or buy......Any suggestions?

I really need to get out in my garden and pull up stuff and get the beds ready for winter. Do I wanna???? Heck no! Maybe that's what I'll have the kids do Saturday. That sounds like a good family project. What are your fun plans for the weekend?
You are so funny! You kill me! It is so funny to see us all sitting around crocheting! I feel old! Anyway...I spoke to Jacki last night. She called me pretty upset and crying because they told her that because Lee (her ex-husband) has domestic violence in front of a child on his record that there is no way she can keep Leila! She aslo make comment that we would be getting her and she needed reassurance that they could still have contanct with her! Also, we should get our background clearances back today or tomorrow! They are in the mail! YEAH!!!The next hearing is in the first week of November! So things are coming together and we should have her with us before Thankgiving (i am guessing)! It is so amazing how my little family is coming together over the years...who would have thought! Talk to ya all later! Love ya Wendy

A Little Experiment FYI

I went out on Monday and bought 2 skeins of knit crocheen and some knitting needles and a crochet hook--I am making 2 leper bandages, one knitted, one crocheted.

I will let you know which takes more yarn--just cuz I know you're all dying to find out.

Oh, and the knitted one is way easier and faster, I've decided.

Later!!!

(just thought I'd give you three something else to laugh at me over--bandages & hair socks)

Hello again! No not really feeling better yet but I have drugs now. I went to the dr. and it's a sinus infection..fun stuff! My throat is killing me! That is so sad about Sandy Wood...I can't think of anything worse! I called Claudia today and still no word on our background checks...she is calling up there to see what the hold-up is. We told Norman Lyman last night that we didn't think it is going to work out with his lot...he wasn't too happy and I don't blaim him so now we get to move on and try for a different lot! As soon as we know for sure where we are building the house plans are ready for printing! I don't enjoy this part of the process as well as picking out cabinets and carpet and such! Anyway, talk to ya all later! Love ya
Hey, ya know the government really doesn't care if you never file your taxes if you are getting a refund. There were some hangup's due to the credit cards being paid off last year and how did we account for that, as income or what???!! But it's done.

So sad about Sandy and her girls. Hopefully they will all get some help. The things Jim gets to deal with in his job.

Hey, that meeting and your workweek sound like a big party. I hope you can stand the fun. My week is starting out fine, but looks to get busier as at goes. It is nice having those lil' ole football tickets waiting for us for Satuday. Gives us something to look forward to....GO COUGARS!!!!!

Well, Soren scoots/crawls anywhere he wants to go now. It is really kindof annoying. I have to be very careful now to close doors and cover the stairway and I'm sure he'll find something I should have picked up or moved or closed......argh!!!!!!!!

Wendy-Any better today????? Hope so!

STACY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WHERE ARE YOU??????????????
(me yelling out to Stacy to join us)

Karla, did you mark this a favorite for MOM??

well, better go throw that casserole together and get Sadie ready for school.

Back later.

Filed taxes??? FILED TAXES?!?!?!??!?!?! Doth mine eyes deceive me??? April 15th was a long freakin time ago girl!!!! Ah well, who cares? I'm not the poor accountant filing in October! HEHEHE. Congrats on the new couches. I would like new couches, come to think of it. Mine are gross!!

Little excitement here in Monticello today. Sandy Wood--You all remember her, I'm sure, shot herself in the head with a .22 pistol. Tried to off herself. Apparently, a .22 isn't a very good suicide choice. She was lifeflighted, but was conscious the whole time. What a mess. Who knows if she'll be ok, or a vegetable for life. Jim sent DCFS (aka Melvin Chad) out to check on the welfare of the twins. Wonder who'll get them. It's sad. Poor girls deserve better.

Anyway, Jim and the kids & I went to Blanding tonight to buy stupid Halloween costumes for the kids. Allie is going to be a She-Devil and Peyton is going to be a pirate AAARRGGHH!! Then we got pizza and wingies. Sorry we didn't stop, Wendy, but we didn't want to get sickly like. Hope you're feeling better, by the way.

Well, I'm going to go to bed. My boss's father passed away over the weekend, so he's out dealing with family and funeral stuff and there wasn't time to reschedule the county committee meeting tomorrow, so I have to be in charge. This ought to be interesting. Oh, and Carla Sorrell had to have an emergency appendectomy on Saturday, so it's just me and good ole' Shirley for the week. Fun fun stuff, I tell ya!!

Good night, all--
Love ya
Karla
YAHOO!!!! Wendy made it here! Sorry you're still feeling crappy. Begone, germs and viruses!

On a happier note, I get to go couch shopping soon. Filed our taxes today and we're getting a nice refund.....Can we do smilies here???? 8-D!
I am a RETARD!!! I created a whole new blog! I hate this kind of stuff! Anyway, I am still sick, in fact my head is spinning right now and I need to lay back down before I barf! I would rather scrub toilets than feel like this! I wish it was a normal monday! Love ya- Wendy
Hey-ho!
Fun Monday here. I despise Monday, too much to do and not enough day to do it in. On top of all my own stuff I signed up to help prepare food for a funeral tomorrow. Why do I get myself into these things. Oh, well, it's just my sanity, right??
So fun to be home for a couple of days. Wish we could have stayed longer, but life happens. It was so nice to have a quiet, not rushed weekend with you all. Thanks for taking the time to just be with us.
Mom, thanks again for the ornaments for the auction. They are beautiful and will be very unique I think. I got some sparkly dangle things for those long ones and will sew them together soon. Still need to find a cute packaging idea.....
Well, better go take care of some of those responsibilities. Which of you has the laundry fairy? I need her services at my house....send her on her way!

Sunday, October 15, 2006

What??? I don't get to pick a title for my post?? That's not fair! Oh well, I couldn't really think of a title anyway.

Well, everyone has gone home. We all had a great weekend at Mom & Dad's house. Chaos ensued, as usual, but it is a comforting chaos. It reminds me that there a quite a lot of people in this world that love me--or at least put up with me!!

Nothing really to say, since we were all just together. Jim is in the middle of 48 hours strait at work. He's exhausted, but gone again. I hate it when they do this to him. Wouldn't be too bad if they'd compensate him, but oh well-we're glad to have jobs.

I'm going to go take a long bath with a good book and go to bed--6 am comes too stinkin early!!

It was great being with you all this weekend. I love you all so much!!

Karla

Am I really the first one to post to this blog????? I hope I don't end up talking to myself. People look at me a little strangely when I do that;oD!
Thanks, Karla, for setting this up for us. I think this is a great idea and I hope everyone else will join in.
How was your Wednesday? Mine was wacky! Left home at 8:00 am and didn't get back until 4:oo pm, but in the meantime I learned that Soren is healthy and right on track for his age, I got to eat out for breakfast and lunch with Sadie, got to go to Kindergarten(unfortunately I had to leave before snack time, haha!) and got better acquainted with the back streets of American Fork because my usual route was closed off for road work. YUCK! And Curtis finally made it home from Elko. YAHOO!!!!!
Looks like we can't leave to come down until after Jordan gets off work at 5. So it'll probably be 10 at the earliest when we get there. I'll call Mom before we go. See you all soon
Love
Kas
